You should have measured the velocity of the water and compered qualitatively the streamlines you got by the experiment with a numerical simulation. It would have been very interested to watch how the numerical simulation is abe to capture fidely the flow field.

This a wonderful visualization. However, anyone watching must understand that this is only ONE OF TWO realities. The other is where the object is moving, flowing. The result is very different. A flowing object forms a very strong vacuum on its rear surfaces that affects the medium around it in very different ways.

One common effect by an object flowing trough a medium is that of lift generated over an airfoil/wing.
