This year my church is giving Hoodies for Hope on Christmas. We will be giving warm hoodies to the homeless and serving them. Also, sharing the love of Christ with them. THAT makes my heart happy to be doing on Christmas day. Serving and giving.

My husband and I stopped celebrating this day back in 2011. He said the Lord told him to do research on it. He prayed and researched and told me we’re not celebrating anymore. I did my own research after that and realized we’ve all been lied to. Yet a lot of Christians still do. There are a lot of unbelievers who know the truth and look at Christians like see that’s why I can’t be apart of your belief. Study to show thy selves approved because people perish for lack of knowledge.

I celebrate Jesus' gift of salvation every day! I celebrate Christmas as a special time of year to get together with my loved ones and give them gifts in a gesture of generosity and good fun. I cook delicious foods and take each person as they are. I feel blessed by all God has done in our lives through good times and bad. My heart is good, God knows my heart! I don't care how or why we do Christmas. I doubt Jesus cares if we honor his birthday. His commandment was to love God with all our heart and to love our neighbors as ourselves. I honor Jesus Christ by trying to live those commandments ever day and praising Him!

It's interesting to ponder why those who once called for the crucifixion of Christ now celebrate him. When will we all get it. December 25, is not the birth of Christ.

There are biological reasons that there are so many holidays at the end of the year also. The shorter periods of daylight and cold weather are triggers for seasonal depression in humans. Feel good brain chemicals like oxytocin, dopamine and serotonin are depleted by long periods of cold and darkness. We compensate by eating carb rich food, filling our homes with light, partying, drinking alcohol and exchanging gifts for joy. That’s why winter holidays are so common across cultures. It’s a biological survival mechanism for the community.
