Therapist Reacts to Sober by Tool

Показать описание
Sober by Tool very powerfully expresses the difficult cycle of addiction. Most of the time people begin using substances to try to cope with the negative feelings they are experiencing. Then when they try to stop using the substance they are left with the pain, and that pain often brings back the desire to use.

That is part of the reason why remaining Sober can be so difficult, because an individuals main coping skill is being taken from them, and they may not have better skills to cope with negative feelings yet.

This song gives us insight into how strong the addictive voice can be and encourages us to fight back against it by remembering what we want to achieve and who we want to be?

Maynard always gets me through my mental break downs. And she had to start with one of his most tame songs. Buckle up buttercup. It only gets better!!

It's not just the lyrics. The instrumental is just so dynamic, tool is amazing. Listen to the percussion again for the very 1st time.

❤I love Tool as well. I feel the emotion in the lyrics, vocals, and music. They capture the suffering of many, which resonates ❤

I was lucky enough to be in high school when this album dropped so I’ve had decades of Tool, what I wouldn’t give to hear them again for the first time

I remember the music videos to this and Scism came out while I was in high school and they were trippy as hell.

Watching someone listen to Tool for the first time is so AWESOME. I have been a fan since April 1993!

I actually sang this song at a club at Panama City Beach Live Karaoke. The band sounded like the actual band, and it was epic! We blew it up! Mile marker 2005 in memory!
