Explained: Is Russia building a nuclear, space-based, satellite killer?

US intelligence watchdogs in Washington have accused Russia of secretly developing a new kind of space-based, satellite-killing nuclear weapon.

Russia has denied the reports, but the head of the US House intelligence committee called for Joe Biden to declassify information about a "serious national security threat".

The exact nature of the weapon - and whether it actually exists - is unclear.
