Getting some clean time and relapsing often causes overdoses because the addict don’t realize that their tolerance has gone way down from lack of use. I overdosed on heroin once because it wasn’t my drug of choice so I didn’t do it as often as the ones who were doing it daily. I overdosed and they didn’t. They weren’t even getting high anymore, just not sick. I should say low not high.
