It's not just rising sea levels. Mashable's Mark Kaufman breaks down how climate change is literally causing the Earth's gravitational center to shift — with potentially devastating consequences.

you have that wrong.
The axis shift is causing climates in areas to change

I think you will find it is the other way around. We have an axial wobble that takes around 42, 000 years to complete one circle. This is how the equator shifts position.
You can't just count the weight of water melting off without counting the weight of the new snow and ice settling higher up on the glaciers.

Water makes up only 0.02 percent of the Earth's mass. I find the idea advanced in this video doubtful.
The Earth's axis shifts continually in a 40, 000-year, about three-degree cycle with respect to the planet's orbital plane. It's called obliquity. The idea that there shouldn't be any variation in how much it moves is ridiculous.

Really bud so early man was taking water out of the ground and doing other mordern things that we do today and coused magnetic pole shifts too. Essentially that is what you are saying. The earth has been doing this way before man was around.

I thought I had heard everything that was stupid, but this is definitely at the top of the list.

Food for thought, wouldn't a natural earth tilt (that is a natural recurring event) explain climate change? Why assume that climate change (caused by humans) is the cause of a natural occurring event that can explain climate change?

Then the opposite can also be true.

The earths axis has changed causing what we call climate change.

I saw the title and noticed how stupid and ignorant one could be that they need to be corrected. It’s the axis shift that is causing erratic climate!

maybe it’s the other way around…just ya know seems more logical that when earths magnetic field flips our magnetic field drops roughly 25% during those times causing the earth to warm. Causing climate change.

its naturally occurring and isn't the first time

Surely a magnetic pole change would have an effect on the climate not the other way round. What happened 42000 years ago when the poles changed then. Surely you are not suggesting the Neolithic man caused the earth to tilt then?

I am a scientist, and I can verify that the evidence used in this video is absurd and not factual. Think about the basis of your statement. “We know that the Earths axis has always shifted. We now know that climate change has shifted it...”. So climate change has always done it, or only recently? There are no definitive differences in shifting now vs thousands of years ago. I’m against all forms of pollution and encourage environmentally friendly practices, but fear for the sake of fear is ridiculous and helpful to no one.

When you tell these lunatics about the observed climate change on other planets, they wonder how our pollution got there.

I agree- geologists have mapped the earth's climate for 100s of thousands of years- periods of extreme temperatures with high heat and plant vegetation have exsisted. In fact we are in a much cooler phase comparitively. The earth has also gone through periods where the magnetics have shifted. Shifting of jet stream currents also have a possible part to play. Earths magnetics also protect us from radiation from the sun and space. If the magnetics are getting diffused- one more piece of the puzzle regarding climate. These things all most likely have their part to play...yes mankind may have contributed- but geologists are showing that climate change is an occurrence within their records. One thing I whole heartedly agree is that we must get over the concept that we will stop this- and use science and history to determine how we can prepare to live in an ever changing world.

Nope. It’s the other way around. Wake up

It is not the first magnetic field change. Magnetic change occurred prior to the industrial boom indicating that it’s a natural change and something else is causing the shift.

The only way the axis is moving is through a process called precession. However... The magnetic poles are moving. Because of this, the earth's magnetic field is weakening during this reversal. Being that magnetic reversals are cyclical, they have happened many times during Earths history and have nothing to do with what man is doing. Your logic of ice melting being responsible for a geomagnetic process is scientifically unfounded. Perhaps you should not make videos about topics that you know nothing about.

This is equivalent to the esteemed congressman contemplated whether Guam would flip over if we put military installations on the coast. It's poleshift, not CO2 or extra water... geez.

This is funny. I think it's the other way around. Pole shift is causing climate change.
