Some of the historical and geographical errors in this are astonishing. Haifa, according to you, is in ITALY? Haifa is in Israel (hint - that's hundreds of miles from Italy), and the Crusader sword was, unsurprisingly, found in the Red Sea (which isn't in Italy)

Black mirrors were in use before Dee. Bowls with black liquid were used previously. In Dees time there were many other devices, crystal balls being one, and much sought after mirrors made of double concave glass, sealed around the edges, and filled with a black fluid through a hole in the top.
