I've been to Ephesus, it's very strange to think you're wandering the same streets as the people, Paul was writing to.

Um. The gold foil can easily be duplicated using todays tools. Hell it can easily be duplicated by using the tools from the past using tufa stone, just carve the design on the stone, then place foil on it and gently rub with cotton to impress the foil in the etching. This will work with fairly thick sheeting.

Humans did build these enormous structures, by mining soft malleable sedimentary layers that were laid down twice; first, at the creation, when God separated earth and water and lastly, after Noah's flood. It's not about the tools or their lost ancient advanced technology, it's all about the materials that were available to them, back in the day. This is why the ancient could do, what we cannot fathom looking at the solid rock today. But the error archaeologists make, is that they think that what they see today, is exactly how it was with the people who built it long ago.
