CGI 3D Animated Short: "Alone: A Wolf's Winter" - by ESMA | TheCGBros - A wolf's pack is sleeping into the wood. Two wolf cubs wake up for playing. A young wolf, keeping an eye on the cubs, is suddenly distracted and one of the cubs die falling in a crack. The young wolf is held responsible and banished from the pack by the alpha wolf. During his exile, the young wolf recover his pack's tracks and discover a trapper camp. A gunshot detonate and wolf's screams too. The young wolf find his pack pushed to the mountain and the trapper shooting them. The young wolf attack the trapper who hurt him with a knife. The young wolf run away followed by the trapper wounded in the arm. The man arm his colt and hear cracking under his feet. He push the snow and discover ice. The young wolf jump on the trapper and they fall together in the iced lake. The young wolf pass out. When he open his eyes, the pack is around him and he is reincluded among his own. 4:35 I love that the wolf is still defending itself, rather than just cowering in fear, the way most movies portray. Makes for a much more realistic shot.

This is perfect! The way the wolves moves and interact with each other is so spot on, the story is flawless and emotive, as an avid wolf love this animation is a masterpiece

I’m normally super critical of canine behaviour in animation but this was just spot on, the people who did this knows their dogs and wolves. Better than the wolves in the live action jungle book who kinda only give vague suggestions of wolfish behaviour, these express all manner of different reactions, walk types and all sorts that show a real attention to their real life counterparts. So so well done

The sound effects, the animations, the models, the backgrounds are in so much detail! Storyline is simple but that’s what makes it perfect! Amazing work!

I loved it! Its emotional, the designs and fur realism is stunning. However, it would be nice for the environment to move too. ( trees swaying, bits of grass twitching, stuff like that ) But other than that, its insanely good! Great job!

I think my cat approves this XDDDD I was watching this and when I look back, I saw my cat just staring at the video and couldn't even get his attention towards me, So even my cat loves this as well XDD

А very beautifully made, but completely inanimate environment - neither a bump from running will swing, nor a blade of grass will twitch, on a tree with a close-up and dry branches, it was possible to make the branches tremble to create a feeling of gusty wind. When the wolf passed by the stream, the snow did not fall anywhere from the shore, although this would give realism. At the beginning, the moment with the guilt of the wolf-nanny is not entirely clear.
