The oldest knows the sacrifices needed to survive, the youngest knows what's right, the strongest thinks he can survive on his own, the mediocre thinks following strength will spare him, and the odd one out is a victim. None of them realized the forest was being cut down because they were focused on survival.

Every year i come back to watch this
it’s incredible how you can actually slowly see how your point of view changes and you start to understand each and every single character and detail in this.

Each timber as i call, has a personality.
The Stick: A small brave fighter
The "oldest": A wise man in the wrong place.
The "reddest": A most-neutral generous man, which didnt deserve it.
Birch: A type of Kowalski. Not in the right place as well.
The meanest: The careless for life, egoist enemy and fighter.

I've been watching this animation several times and I finally got the message, the fire means prosperity, the trunks are the differences between people, so the message is if we share our part the fire of prosperity will continue even in hard times. I have also noticed one of the trunks is selfish, it must represent the high class, and when everyone fights againts him the youngest trunk survives because of honesty

It's amazing how it masterfully shows that believing "I'll be fine alone, other people aren't as competent as me" will only end up destroying yourself.

Because of 1 'all-high and mighty' tree refusing to cooperate and work together to find solution, they all fail.
I doubt the wise but weak little one can survive alone..

Really meaningful and simple but clear animation.

this is hands down my favourite short film on youtube, it hits so hard and the shot were the little twig holds the old mans face up, bringing the log face to face with his crimes, that has stuck with me since i first watched it a few years ago

In my opinion, this short film has 2 meanings
1. It's about not bullying others but sharing with them when it's difficult
2. Condemn the act of deforestation that greatly affects the life of plants, animals and people
