Thanks mate you don't know how grateful I am to have checked out your video. 
I spent hours checking out a miss fire on no.3 cylinder on our Golf gti swapping plug coils injectors and a compression test, all had no fault but still no spark for number 3 :( 
Had a thought I had not cancelled the service indicator light for about 3 years and 30, 000 klm.
followed your vid and low and behold she now runs sweet :) so there is a disabler if  "not serviced"
