Senko Fishing Tricks! Beginner And Advanced!

Shallow weeds, heavy cover, clear water, or deep suspended fish, the senko is one of the most universal baits ever made! Learning how to adapt the senko (stick bait) to changing conditions will increase your catch rate tremendously. Today Tim is going in depth, showing us how to adapt a senko in different scenarios from open water suspended bass to flipping heavy cover.

When someone says they're catching fish on a "senko" we all have a general assumption about what that means. But with all the ways this bait can be adapted, you might be surprised by what they were actually doing. Was he skipping docks? Was he flipping? Was he bottom hopping off main lake points? If you know which sizes, colors, and rigging to use, the senko can be used for virtually anything.

Tim uses the senko for 3 main applications. He loves to skip docks with weightless baits, fish outside structure with a Neko rig, and flip heavy cover with a texas rig. He uses very specific hooks and colors for each of these methods. Below you'll find links to all the gear he discussed in the video. We've broken it down by size of senko and rigging method. We've included colors, hooks sizes, as well as rod and reel combos for each method. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

You guys are so under-appreciated. I get home from a long day of work and i still get to learn everything i need to know from you guys without having to do my own homework. Thank you guys so much.

Fantastic Senko guide! What I think is so impressive is that the beginner fisherman and the experienced angler must fish this bait largely the same way in order to be successful.

Your $150 Shimano SVX recommendation from this year's $200 combos was put to the test for the first time yesterday throwing a weightless Texas rigged stick worm. WOW! Super impressed with it. Smooth as silk, quiet and casts a MILE. Excellent recommendation. Smooth as my Quantum Smoke but casts a LOT further with no weight. I've got a Curado that is seeing its last legs and will be hard pressed to buy anything but another SVX. Thank you - you guys are awesome!

Awesome! I just caught my first senko fish yesterday! Weightless texas rig, I’ve always caught em on other lures and hadn’t tried the senko, but when they didn’t want a Ned rig, I tried the senko and got em!

I fish Senkos a lot around docks on Lake Norman and do very well with them. I have been experimenting with different O-rings, rubber bands used on braces, and bands for kids hair. Today I tried a new system and I was very pleased with how it worked out. I bought 3/8” wire heat shrink at the hardware store and cut into little pieces about 1/8” wide. I slip it over my favorite 5” worm and use a lighter to heat the shrink tubing until it tightens around the worm. It holds tight to the worm and holds the hook really tight. I think I will be using this from now on or until I discover something better.

Caught a few 2+ lbs. Bass lately on a wacky rigged stick bait. Definitely a must use technique! Tried and true and just flat out produces good fish!!

I recently started fishing a senko a whole lot more. Like as in it’s always tied on now. I’ve always fished it but never had too much confidence in it for some reason. It was always that bait that seemed to slay for everyone else but me. But I caught a few on it one day and never looked back. Now it’s one of my go to baits when the bite is tough. Especially weightless Texas rigged. Obviously wacky is always a go to. This video came right on time. Almost like you guys know what you’re doing or something lol 😂😂 kidding. Thanks guys!!
