Senko Fishing Tricks! Beginner Senko Rigging To Advanced Fishing Tips

Senkos have a "right side up!" Few anglers realize there is a right and wrong way to rig them. This is just one of the many details Tim is covering in today's in-depth look at bass fishing with a soft stick bait. He'll cover the beginner rigging basics but also dive into advanced tricks that will help you refine your technique in different situations.

If you're only going to fish a Senko once in a while, it should be the 5". The standard 5" senko has incredible fishing catching power all over the country. If you want to refine your fishing, target bigger fish, search for a key finesse bite, etc... there is a time and place for the other sizes and styles. Most anglers consider the senko a basic bait but they're overlooking its value for big bass and power fishing.

Below is a breakdown of all the baits, hooks, and gear in the video. We've included color recommendations for each senko, hook sizes to match worm sizes, and more. The links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

One huge take away when I read all the comments, people are actually watching the full video which is awesome. Personally tactical is the only fishing channel on YouTube that I do not rifle through! I’ve watched every second of every video. And it looks like the rest of the audience is as well and that’s an awesome feeling

Tim is: “The most interesting fisherman in the world” - when he teaches techniques, bass blow up in the video behind him in anticipation of eating his presentations.

Caught my PB on a stick bait, Strike King 5” Grn Pum Blk Red, rigged neko...she measured just under 26” and was MASSIVE. Didn’t have a scale on me at the time but the average weight for length put her north of double digits for sure!! Only been fishing for a little over 2 years now and caught her 7 months into learning to bass fish. I give a lot of credit to this channel here because Matt and Tim gave me the knowledge and confidence I needed to go out and buy the correct gear and tackle to land big fish! Thanks for all y’all do!!

When doing beginner videos combined with rigging techniques it would be cool if you guys would show the rigging of the bait on the body cam so that we can get up close looks on it. That one image of the morning dawn senko Texas rigged was awesome and it would be nice to have some close up footage of how to run the hook through the bait.

Gary Yamamoto is also an amazingly nice guy, I had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times in Mineola 20ish years ago.

I’d like to thank you guys for your tips and tricks, yesterday I caught three 5 plus pounders and one 4 1/2 pounder on a Texas rig bandito bug. If it weren’t for your guy’s knowledge I probably wouldn’t have caught those fish, so thanks for sharing!

Thank you Tim. I really forgot about the Sinko. There has been so much new baits on the market. Again great video Tim.

For the next video, I’m keen to see how you organized them. Looked very practical with the baits and terminal tackle

Another good tip when wacky rigging is to use TWO o-rings and cross them, then hook through the two rings so the hook is perpendicular to the worm. The hook up ration is WAY better. Great video!

Great info, thank you! I really want to get more comfortable with the plastic baits, so this video was perfect. You even covered different line and reels! Thanks again! Can’t wait for this weekend!

Thank you Tim for an exceptional training session on a bait that I’ve never mastered. Now I understand the technique and feel confident to apply your technique on my fisheries.
I appreciated how you were able to provide training to beginners and professionals in one session.
I’m excited about my upcoming fishing weekend.
Thank you again.

I would love to see a video of you guys fishing with Tubes only. I have a good amount in my boxes, but never really use them.
I would love to see you guys make a video dedicated to fishing with the hardly used Tube baits. 😊
Thanks for all the videos, very informative and incredibly helpful!
