2017 Ford F150 BMS Reset for Battery Change Out- How To

Many parts stores told me I’ll have to have a mechanic scan the battery with a computer. This is how you can reset the BMS with no computer.

Quick comment, it helps to quickly turn off and then on the key (to standby mode) after the 5 light/5brakepump combo. Took me a fews times and realized i was doing this too slow. Did it quickly then i saw the battery light flashing. Only afterwards do you then fully turn the key to start the truck.

Hmmm...all the other videos, including the "Ford Boss" guy say to flash brights 5 times, then brakes 3 times, then wait to see the battery icon flash. This is a little different.

I got the dreaded Turn off power to save battery message, I did this BMS reset process which cleared that message but right after I got a yellow wrench icon and a warning on my ford pass that a powertrain reduced power fault was detected. The car then wouldn’t start until I put the fob in the key holder and it started. The yellow light went out and the save battery message went out too. But I think it’s time to replace my battery anyways since it is 5 years old.

wait what? i changed my battery n let my engine idle for a min 3 times on n off after replacing it, (everything worked fine) but i don’t get the battery icon on the dash.. did i miss something orrr? only thing i noticed was tire pressure was off so i had to reset it

I did it on my 2013. The battery didn't show up. But did the sequence anyway. Now my radio will stay on.

I've been my battery out a few times in my 17 f150 4x4 5.0 and I've never had to do anything but just start it. No codes. No lights on or anything. Just start it. I'm guessing this is a joke
