How to Run (and win!) Multiple Events in one Track Meet

I used to LOVE running multiple events at the same meet. My competitors would be out socializing and wasting energy, I'd have my feet kicked up while I rested and listened to music. Guess who was fresh when the gun went off!

Thank you for watching this video. My favorite days are those that stimulate me physically and mentally. Athletics keeps my body fit, entrepreneurial business keeps my mind fit. Welcome to the life of the ATHLETEPRENEUR!

Idaho allows kids to run as many events as they want to at the State Champs. Junior and Senior year I ran the 4x400, 800, 1600, and 3200. All contested in a span of 48 hours!! Four races, four gold medals. This was only possible through CONSERVATION OF ENERGY! I'm curious, how many events does your Coach have you running this Championship season?

The answer is: chew run gum in between events.

Awesome video, Nick! I would add the top of "one race at a time mindset". Focus and give your best effort on the race you're in. Do not go to the starting line thinking about the other 3 races later in the meet. If you do the things you suggest, then you'll race well in all of them. Thanks again, I'm showing this to my athletes

I never really thought about it like this! I socialize way too much, and I've always been scared that if I lay down on between events I would get tight muscles. Thanks nick, good video!

I’ve been really struggling lately with the mental aspect of running multiple races in a single meet. I find myself not giving my full effort in my second and third races of the day because I am tired and just ready to go home. It is very frustrating for me because I’ll do well in one event and then just completely blow up in the others. Any tips on how to mentally stay locked in even when you know you’re on tired legs?
