2001-2005 Honda Civic Timing belt replacement part 1

We're doing a 2001 Honda Civic timing belt replacement. This part of the video shows the removal process, part 2 shows the installing part. This works on all 7th Generation Civic.

Torque specs:
10 ft. lbs - Air box bolts
8 ft. lbs - valve cover bolts
17 ft. lbs - P/S pump mounting bolts
17 ft. lbs - Alternator mounting bolts
27 ft. lbs - Cam pulley bolt
9 ft. lbs - water pump bolts
33 ft. lbs - Timing belt tensioner bolt
8 ft. lbs - timing cover bolts
9 ft. lbs - Crank sensor bolt
130 ft. lbs - crankshaft bolt
45 ft. lbs - engine mounts

Yeah that drum brake spring tool is a big deal, so handy. Invaluable, and very cheap so I would say it's worth it's weight in gold times two, thanks for the video buddy!!!

I have an impact wrench, is it fine to break the bolts with a breaker bar and then use the impact to spin them out faster ?
I’ve been told to keep the impact far away from engine bays unless the socket is larger than 15 mm.

I took the 4 bolts off the alternator/engine bracket and it is still stuck on the engine?

What do i do if my timing marks wont alighn on both gears? Do i take the belt off and move accordingly?

NutzAboutBolts. Without knowing the age of your timing belt, how did you know it needed to be replaced? You didn't show any wear and tear on the belt.

tell you that. replacing timing chain on mustang seems easier since you have more room to work on.

Getting the crank bolt off without an impact was by far the hardest part for me. @nutzaboutbolts: How did you get it off with out using the strange crank pully tool?
