After following the video I was able to successfully replace the timing belt, water pump, and valve cover seals/gasket. One thing the video does not show is removing the ABS module, although you don’t need to remove it to carry out the repairs, but it definitely opens up the space for easy access to the timing belt/water pump if removed.

I’m sure glad they reminded me to open the hood before starting the job.

Mating surfaces. not pronounced correctly BUT otherwise...the narrator does a great job. It otherwise is a Really nice DIY.. take care and be extra careful with the spark plug tube seals in the valve cover. ( maybe take a few cellphone pictures..Have done quite a few timing belts on many cars.... must admit Haynes does a great job on certain cars...our library is full of them....mostly really old manuals.. Modern cars are not made to be worked on unless you have some tools and skills.

Disconnects the battery, jumps in, turns ignition on and everything lights up?

Is it just me, or was that tensioner spring installed upside down @23:13??

The tensioner spring is mounted upside down. It has the up mark on one side.

No need to completely remove the valve cover. Just raise it slightly enough to remove the top timing cover.

Valve cover gasket and O-rings: they don’t just “pop” out if the car is old. There should be a warning. You need to heat them up with a heat gun to work them out.

If not you will make the mistake I did and tear them up and it will take many painstaking hours to get all the pieces stuck done in the ring.

The 2011 Honda civic does not have a timing belt, it has a chain.

Why did it start by removing the passenger side front wheel "remove appropriate wheel" yet all repairs were done on the driver's side
