Your "day 1" was already a very, very solid foundation that most people don't have.

I know this was meant to be encouraging - "Hey, anybody can do it!" - but this is like watching somebody who's 5'10", weighs 160 lbs, start going to the gym and post about how "see? anybody can get in shape!"

I've been taking vocal lessons for maybe 8 years or something like that and I've only recently started singing covers of songs I felt I could never sing (Adele, Christina Aguilera, ...) and I have to say my confidence and skill improved so much. I seem to have found songs that perfectly match my range and style without knowing it and I seriously underestimated my abilities. Your vocal coaches knew exactly what they were doing by suggesting an Ailee song ^^
