Any dog bite, regardless if it broke the skin, you need to see a doctor within 8 hours. A tiny scratch and bacteria could lead to serious infection.

Ok so I got bit today, on the back of the hand, while trying to help someone with her dogs nails. We cleaned it, actually with rubbing alcohol because it was what was available (yes that hurt), put an antiseptic ointment on, and bandage. It probably bleed for a minute, pretty good flow. That said, its 5 hrs later and my hand is swelling. Personally, I'd expect that. It's definitely not enough to need stitches, puncture and small tear. Wondering though if I should go to urgent care. I hate going to the doctor...

2 hospital trips in the span of a week first one could have been home treated second one definitely not. first time i was bit was on my left arm it didn’t really bleed but i was in total shock. my arm was super swollen bruising right away.. the second time it happened a week later with the same foster dog after we brought her back did multiple meet ups before bringing her back. we brought her back for back at like 6 pm and the next morning around 10 her and my dog got into another fight. of course i had to break it up and once again she went for my other arm after i broke the fight. my arm was gushing i was terrified called my mom when she was at work she came rushing home but her car was over heating. i was in excruciating pain literally screaming for around a half an hour. i couldn’t really move my arm couldn’t pick up anything pull i was getting super frustrated impatient waiting for my mom to get home. it definitely was a day yesterday and i’ve been trying to fully educate myself on what to do in case of anything happening in the future. we aren’t fostering that dog anyone and don’t plan to due to the same problem happening again and worse… doctors were going to stitch it but they only stitch stab wound punctures also because of the risk of infection.

I would never use peroxide or alcohol.... you want to use iodine wrap it for the first night.... take the wrapping off next day some more iodine.... let it air dry .... if you keep it wrap it means it stays moist the more likely to get infection and stick to cloth .... you want it to blood clot and dry.... if it's deep pack it with iodine cloth and leave it open to air.... then pop some pain reliever for pain because the muscle the nerves will be hurting going to be a little sore. Iodine is your best friend...

Got bit by a freakin husky two days ago. Got my tetanus shot, antibiotics, and pain killers. Got me on my calf and the side of my inner knee/thigh area… I work at a doggy daycare center and I was breaking up a fight between that husky and a pitbull mix… funny enough the damn husky started it… it was pretty gnarly… luckily no dogs were harmed. My aunt also got bit by a husky when she was young too so we’re both now cautious around huskies 😭
