Otto did a brave thing opening up to Marisol. Talking about your problems with your loved ones is the first step towards recovery. Tom Hanks captured his many stages of grief and depression perfectly.

Mariana Trevino makes this movie! Look at her eyes and you cannot help feel. She is an amazing actress! Funny, moving, physical comedy in there, too. What a spectacular performance she gave alongside Tom Hanks. Marvelous!

This really shows the mental impact grief has on people.

Amazing movie for someone that grieves. I lost my daughter and so many people do not understand the pain and the grief and the anger. Best movie I’ve seen of deep sorrow and how bad you hurt that you want to take your life every day. This deserves an award.

I believe this is one of Tom Hanks’ best movies. It’s a wonderful one for someone who’s going through mental health struggles. This movie hit close to home for me because I once contemplated suicide because I was so angry at the world. I was mistreated for having a disability and I wanted to end my life. On top of that, I lost my Grandfather and my best friend. Not having him here hurts and I’m left to deal with the loose ends he left behind. I just hope I can come out on top one day and live a nice happy, healthy life.

I kinda see some similarities between Otto and Carl Fredricksen from Up. Both were devoted to their wives, both couple lost their child during pregnancy — otto's wife from an accident and carl's from miscarriage. From those sufferings they both devoted their lives into making things better for their wives until they died. Otto and Carl then became these grumpy old men after their wives passed away which were the only persons they thought could bring them happiness—not until the unexpected arrival of a Mexican immigrant family and a young wilderness explorer scout that managed to turn their life upside down and become the happy people they used to be.

Defniitely, one of the best films I've watched. Only those who have truly loved unconditionally and grieved would feel the dynamics of the plot.

This has joined the top 5 movies of my lifetime. It joins the group of Shawshank Redemption, One Flew Over the CuckCoos Nest, Forest Gump and now Man named Otto . Congrats Tom, you were in 2 !

I happen to be a huge fan of Tom Hanks. He's kept me on the edge of my seat speaking to a soccer ball before... The man is brilliant, just awesome! Absolutely incredible movie... Great Job, Mr. Hanks!

My wife and I have been trying to have a child for over 5 years, and when I saw that movie couldn’t help to relate with what may be the end of life for us… damn, I started watching thinking it was a comedy

Truman Hanks can honestly play the live-action Buzz Lightyear if it ever came to pass.

It wasn't until far too late in my life that I realized the damage that rage can do, and the cost of allowing it to drive you is high. But it is rarely discussed about the costs involved in managing it. Learning to live in service to others -- and especially to *one* other -- demonstrates the value received in exchange for those costs. It's worth it, and this quiet recitation from Hanks is so understated, and just beautifully done. If you're not at least on the verge of tears watching this, I don't think anything can be done for you.

The phrase "I have things to do" radically changed at the end of the movie. It had a whole new meaning when Otto finally realized life after Sonya could still have meaning.
