If you're like me and almost never upgrade your health/fp, I recommend making Zess Cookies, made by combining Cake Mix and Maple Syrup. It restores 15 HP and FP, for like...10 piantas each, which is easily gotten with any of the games (I'm usually most consistent on the Plane Game)

If you ever need to heal in the game, there's plenty of ultra shrooms and jammim jellies In the overworld to make all the jelly ultras you could ever need. Plus coins are absolutely plentiful and there's absolutely no reason you should be short on them. In general though, getting jelly Ultras made is extremely easy and especially in the remake. There is no excuse for not spending that amount of money especially since you're not going to be doing so during the main story because you'll never need to heal that much.

If you want to go even cheaper, you can craft life shrooms by combining a regular mushroom with a turtley leaf.

The recipe shown in this video can be made 5 coins cheaper by cooking the Life Shroom with another Turtley Leaf.

If you've gotten the bag expansion from the Pit of 100 Trials, you can go buy 5 Life Shrooms (200-250 coins), head to Petalburg to grab 10 Turtley Leaves, and get 5 Horsetails from Petal Meadows. This full inventory can then be cooked up into 5 Zess Deluxe.

Point Swap.

It can get you doen to 1 HP and completely refill your FP if used correctly.

This is useful because having someone is peril gives you insane damage output, and it's really easy to avoid taking damage. Especially if your main damage dealer is a Partner. Just attack with them first, and swap them out with Mario if you need to.

At that point, you might as well grind the tube game for 160 piantas to get an ultra shroom and a jammin' jelly to end up with a jelly ultra anyway.

Zess Special can also be made by mixing Whacka bump and golden leaf, totally free

1. Cook mushroom and point swap, it turns into poison mushroom.
2. Cook poison mushroom and another point swap to turn it into ultra shroom. Use that for your your jelly ultra.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2.
4. Cook your extra ultra shroom with another point swap to turn it into jamming jelly. Then cook two together now you have a jelly ultra.

Actually costs 42; combining Life Shroom and Dried Shroom also produces a Mushroom Steak for 3 coins cheaper. You can also get a Mushroom from the Great Tree shop for 3 coins, just so you know.
