An easier way to do this is get to rank 11, lose to the cleft fight, then when the egg starts bouncing after you talk to it, set a timer and set up the ranked match when the timer matches your desired yoshi color, that way you don’t miss your yoshi color and have to re wait.

If I remember correctly, you can stop at the dialogue when the secretary says something like Here's your reward or something like that when beating the twins, just wait for the time that your Yoshi's color you want then press A to end the dialogue

you could also ignore the egg when King K bring it up or just get it on top of the stand(for convenience)

and then battle to rank 11

and before going out save the game

get a stopwatch tab open, turn it on by the time you get the egg, start the battle for rank 10

wait the needed amount of time before fleeing

therefore you can be almost entirely sure you get the color you want but if not just load the save, restart the stopwatch, regain the egg, start the stopwatch, and start the rank 10 battle again.

It did require me to stare at a single batthe state with my selection on flee for 12 whole minutes so if you need to be stimulated I'd suggest doing the stopwatch on PC so you can boot up a yt video on one tab and have the stopwatch running on the other.

But I did get my orange Yoshi first try due to it

Just dont pick up the egg until youre at the rank and then you can just sit and wait for the right amount of time rather than stressing over getting battles done

Or if you lose the twins fight before getting the egg, it will hatch before the next battle against the twins

I used a timer to choose my yoshi color so I could get a nice orange yoshi

You don't even need to run from the twins with the Yoshi egg following you. Lose to the Adonis Twins and then pick up the egg. He'll hatch before you have to fight again which makes timing it easier.
