DIY Sliding Patio Door Installation (In Stucco)

Here we installed a replacement vinyl sliding patio door into a stucco wall. Although the stucco was not DIY, the rest of this installed was. Replacing a patio door is not complicated if you understand the process. Removing the old patio door, preparing the opening and following a few simple strips will lead to success.

The actual installation of the replacement patio door is the same for any wood framed home weather the home has wooden siding, vinyl siding or stucco. The exterior finish will differ based upon the exterior of the home. In this video the exterior is “stucco”. Our best option with finishing the outside of this door was to hire a pro to make this patio door look awesome.

Thanks, just the video I needed. The only thing I will do differently is to NOT use duct tape to hold the plastic in place. In the Las Vegas heat, you're apt to get duct tape glue impossibly stuck to your new door frame!
