Loud starts at 90db, frickin loud starts at 100db. 😜

I hit 97db with my Rotel A8 integrated the other day and it wasn’t even breathing hard. No stress just clean clear foot tapping sounds!! The advantage of smaller man cave listening rooms. 😊

I still love my Model30 w/ SACD30n after 4 years ! I believe these two models started the new look !

Marantz should definitely never get together with Focal… that duo would crush entire worlds with the weight of confusion alone. Nothing against Marantz, I think they’re great and have some incredible products right now and highly competitive. But, I can’t stress enough how many brands are falling into this thing of making too much of basically the same, instead of following B&W and their simple lineup. They just figured out the right way to do it and that’s it, no extras necessary.
I really don’t understand the point of 60n when you have the M1. It should’ve just been left in the oven and dump the oven at recycling facility.
Great review as always! Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday!

As an outsider, I feel like Marantz's amp line is a mess. Too many amps that look the same and I still can't tell a difference between most of them. I just feel like this is a prime example of 'Paradox of Choice' where too much choice can make consumers just give up. "The paradox of choice suggests that an abundance of options actually requires more effort to choose and can leave us feeling unsatisfied with our choice." - Google

On an unrelated note, had cause to revisit your Sub Setup and Sub EQ videos from 2020 and 2023, respectively. Thank you for the years of great content. Feels like you’re continuously (and successful) raising the bar.

I learnt about the kaleidescape strato v from this video. Would you mind doing a review on that device for newbies (like me) talking about the reference video space?

Good afernoon. I finally got to watch a review at home over a cup of coffee instead of in a hotel room. LOL. Andrew, thanks for another detailed review. I appreciate how you are able to help us understand the nuances between models to help us understand appreciable differences. Thank you for that! I find the Marantz naming convention for each model vs capabilities confusing. For instance, it's easier for my mind to reference Cambridge Audio model naming conventions vs capabilities ... or even Yamaha. I dont' feel they make it easy for the consumer that way. Does that make sense? Otherwise, I LOVE their products and their sound overall.

What makes the SVS a good reference for you vs say a more easy to drive speaker like your Cornwall? Recognize they are not the same price point. Would you lose something from the amp trying to power a speaker like that, or is it better because the amp has to push harder?

I think I agree. I don’t think Marantz is doing anything ‘wrong’ but simplifying its range would help everyone I think.
I’d love to see them do something like Cambridge audio or hifi rose and put a nice screen in as a variation from the current line’s appearance even though their line is quite pretty anyway.

Side note: I’d love to see Denon bring us a slimline AVR as a more affordable Cinema 70S.

Great review. Enjoyed it. Thank you both.

My wife: I hate you so much.

3:56 into the video and I was already asking, “Why wouldn’t you get the M1 or Stereo 70S instead??”
As the video progressed to the M1 conclusion comparison, that opinion only seemed to get stronger

Why do many brands seem intent on creating convoluted SKU confusion offering subjectively “worse or lesser” products at a higher price instead of the traditional Good, Better, Best tier?

Why risk customer’s disappointment either not getting the best value or FOMO?
I’m a spec nerd and it took me 20-30 minutes doing comparisons to sort out Marantz’s line, compounded by the Cinema vs Stereo variants

NAD, recently Onkyo, Marantz, etc

Thank you for another amp review. I'm still perpetually looking for that perfect speaker and amp combo. From those pieces I've been able to audition in person, my taste and, more importantly, my wife's taste fall pretty much in line with you and Kristi. So, these reviews are so very helpful to put things on the short list or eliminate. Selfishly, I'm really curious to see where you think the Sonos Amp falls, especially compared to the Marantz M1. I have the Sonos amp in an unconventional set up (built into a 1964 stereo console with B&W Signature 7NT in-walls).

All i want, is a clean 5.2 or 7.2 amp, with 150-200w pr channel :)

It’s hard to keep track of Marantz’s slimline offerings. I have the Cinema 70S. I understand the Stereo 70S existence. But besides the Mac Mini form factor of the Model 1, I’m at a loss to figure out the rest.

I feel I am Marantz’s targeted demographic for the 60n. I am very price conscious and wanted a “middle of the line” integrated amp that looked modern while having a vintage feel (the Marantz name does that for me). I upgraded from a NR1608 AVR to the 60n, and it was a huge and drastic leap in audio quality and power when driving my very efficient Paradigm SE6000f. I am not driving it louder than 40, and its imaging is great along with its classic Marantz sound that, I understand, is not for everyone. Heos is only getting better with a ton of resources being spent on it makes it my main way of listening to music.

I disagree with purchasing the stereo 70s over the 60n (8:48). I had the stereo 70s for about a week before deciding on the 60n. The 75 watts were lackluster luster with very weak headroom…I had to go up to 50+ to get the most out of my paradigms.

Overall, the 60n is strategically priced and a great integrated amp for all that it does.
