Helldivers 2 Solo Review | Single Player Review

Everyone has reasons for why they don’t have a regular squad all the time to game with and whatever that reason is, it’s not fun to miss out on amazing experiences, just because some games aren’t single player exclusive. Helldivers 2 doesn’t offer a single player mode or a campaign, but is it still fun in single player?

Helldivers 2 isn’t like Remnant 2, Diablo 4, or the upcoming Windblown, which are games that work perfectly fine in either solo or co-op. Let’s make it very clear, Helldivers 2 is an always online, squad game first, but the good news is there its still lots of fun to be had spreading democracy in single player. That is as long as you are aware of some of the concessions you might need to make and tips that will make things better.

Why do you prefer to play co-optional games in solo?

I appreciate a review of this game that does not assume every gamer on the planet has tons of gaming friends to play with. Pretty much all other reviews do make that assumption. Even though I am aware this game is foremost intended for playing with friends, if a game such as this does have a solo mode then game reviewers owe it to their viewers to include the solo play in their review. Thanks for being one of the few that do.

This is a great review. My friends can't stay on a game for more than a month so it's good to see that I can at least get my 40 bucks worth out of this game after all 😂

But to bloster rewards for single only & enemy tune for single...
It will only be better exposure

Plus my buddy's aren't always available, , , to run solo still get decent loot would be fantastic

Before video: I love Helldivers 2 and sometimes prefer solo play instead of dropping in with sometime bad squad mates. You still can contribute to democracy and the liberation of planets. Battle of Malevolent Creek🦅🚬😶‍🌫️

After video: Amazing chill vibes will subscribe, difficulty is a state of mind imo lol, Solo is possible on challenging all the way up to suicide mission (depending on the mission) I haven’t tried a higher difficulty cuz I have a squad I run with now, Team based stratagems are doable just need and I recommend the anti-material sniper then auto cannon once you get it and the railgun once you’re high enough level; all three if those weapons are super good solo weapons that work well in squads too. Next is General Brash Guerrilla tactics, getting in quietly and getting out so fast and noisy that the enemy doesn’t know what happened and why 19 of there members are dead. Stealth is your best friend and speed is also, defensive options are good, but only as useful as your ability to hold a position solo. Running and training the works wonders with a well place strafing run or cluster bomb. Additionally objectives is a tuffy this is true some mission you won’t have time, or its not worth it because you won’t extract alive. Getting samples is harder and you will die to bs, but you got this solider. See you in hell

God damn I'm still on the fence on this game. Too expensive for my mates, so it's gonna be solo, but if the game does not feel enjoyable because it's too hard for a casual player, then it will only feel like a chore. I want replayability and sense of accomplishment, but I just don't know if it's worth the bucks..
Dunno if it's possible to relate this to e.g. Elden Ring (which I enjoyed)?

How bad is it with just randoms via matchmaking?

I play at my own speed and hate being rushed. I like lore and exploring.

when playing co-op the other players always want to rush through content just to get to the killing.
