I just want to give Unknown Coatings a massive shoutout for always being super helpful and informative with the powdercoat world. Hit him up a while ago about white spots in my coating and he lead me in the right direction. Much appreciated

Thank you for the backer rod tip! I have been pinching off small pcs of foam from an old seat cushion foam pad and shooting them through the hose. The backer rod will be much easier to size correctly.

I'm going to try this method to clean my hoses. I never seem to have a problem until I go to shoot white. That's when I can see specks of the previous colors I used.

Awesome idea for the hoses. I always just used foam ear plugs.

Thanks for the video man. I've been using a redline gun for a while and I've never had any color cross contamination issues. I've recently started using an Eastwood hopper fed gun and no matter how thoroughly I clean it, spending 30+ minutes and using these techniques I still get a little contamination. The only time I have this issue is with white (duh lol) and I end up getting a dozen or so tiny specs of reds, blues etc on a large white part, such as a truck bumper. Very tiny specs, maybe just singular grains of powder, but I don't like giving parts to customers like this. Any tips? Thanks in advance.

As stupid simple, and common sense as this video is. I can see how it can be very helpful to people who are just trying to get into powder coating. Me personally, I would have way over thought this, like bucket, water and blow drying.

Another question, how much pounds of powder does it normally take to coat a set of 17” wheels?

I have a hyper smooth 02 basic.
The cup attaches to the gun.
How do I convert it over so the hose
will attach to the gun?

The hole on your gun is normaly for the electrode air on a gema gun
