Eye Color Genetics and How Eye Color is Determined

The expression of eye color ranges from brown to blue, and virtually anything in between.

This variety of colors is directly related to genetics.
Specifically associated with inheritance and the production of melanin pigments.

The expression of eye colors is directly related to the quantity of melanin production. This is the very reason why babies are born with blue eyes. The melanin pigments is not initially produced at birth, causing their eyes to express the color blue.

Blue eyes, are genetically recessive traits, and require both parents to carry the gene, for the color to be expressed. In fact, the prevalence of this color has been decreasing with time and is being replaced with more dominant colors, such as brown.

"Blue eyes, are genetically recessive traits, and require both parents to carry the gene, for the color to be expressed."

This is a croc of doodoo. Most people with parents of mixed eye colour have blue eyes. That is a fact of reality. I have seen many sites developed recently that say blue eyes are recessive. This is also false. Blue eyes are a dominant trait, where only one parent with blue eyes will always have blue eyed children. Ask some blacks or NA indigenous this question about intermarriage with blue eyed people and they will also agree with the FACT that they always have blue eyed children. One site I visited stated that a union of brown and blue eyed parents will always have brown eyed children. Try telling that to my white, blue-eyed cousin that married a black guy with brown eyes... they have only blue eyed children. Try telling that to my blue eyed friend that married a NA indigenous... all of their children also have blue eyes.
