Thanks for sharing this. Great session with great questions. Wonderful to live in Toronto, Canada and still participate in these great SFAS events.

Paul McGowan says back wall as well. Has the same complaint it confuses people. I think I always say wall behind the speaker.

With regards on Andrew Jones's discussion on calibration and standard of an audio equipment (speaker), what then is the calibration standard for the rest of the recording equipment?!!! Playing music thru' a piece of audiophile equipment is also listening to music how it was first captured & created and there isn't an standard in the entire playout and recording end-to-end chains?!!! 🤷‍♀️

How do you think about Psycho-acoustics? Reproduced music is an illusion after all, so what tricks can the mind play with it? One thing I have noticed is when the recording engineer fools with the controls during a recording, it degrades the illusion. It seems once the mind accepts the illusion it does not like shifting illusions.

The trick to proving listening tests is to record them. To prevent people from dismissing certain products is to lie. Like in Andrew's case says it's two new Speaker designs. When it's actually cables.
