Wim has set 25 extreme athletic world records. U sound silly saying his method is not good for athletic enhancement. Absolutely silly.

Thank you for continuing to bring more attention to Wim’s life changing method. Realize it or not, you’re helping to turn more people on to this modality. 🙏🏻

Been doing Wim Hof since 2020. I’m 39 and in best shape of my life and I’ve always been an athlete.

Doing Wims method has helped me to lower my blood pressure and keep it at healthy level without meds.

I started doing the Wim Hof method at 39 when I got a rare late in life form of type 1 diabetes. There are many reasons I do Wim Hoff breathing every day but the main is for the immune system support. Even being immune deficient now I never get sick. The real benefit of this type of breathing is it's immediate activation of the autonomous nervous system and immune system.

Don’t knock MY Wim !!! I am so happy I found him and have introduced hundreds of people to his method (Mostly my high school patients/students at in and outpatient Psychiatric Hospital ) His methods have helped the ones who practice it ;
Mentally, physically and emotionally. They have even started with at least a 30 second cold blast in the shower .

Appreciate this info. At last you are focusing on your preferred practice, which is wonderful, and no need to criticize Wim Hoff, who has truly helped MILLIONS.

Simple: can you do what Wim Hof does? Have you been able to achieve what he has achieved? No? Who cares what your theories are!

You stopped because you’re trying to sell your book.

You're oxygen levels can go as low as 30% its normal rate during the breathhold...your CO2 levels are through the roof...especially when you're holding your breath for 4 or more minutes. The hyperventilation you mention is only half of Wim's breathing technique...it is balanced out by the breath hold
The progress of his breathing technique is defined by the breath hold...not by the hyperventilation...you measure the time holding your breath and progress is seen as your natural increase of this time...therefore you could say progress in the technique is progress in CO2 tolerance...
Replying to your reply....he holds 26 world records...if you told someone who Wim was completely unknown to of his feats perhaps they would call bs too lol...it makes sense theoretically with the o2 levels... the hyperventilation decreases oxygens affinity to haemoglobin and facillitates uptake by the myoglobin of your tissue. To load up your tissue with oxygen to that extent...it would makes sense it does something so extraordinary. Especially due to the fact that cold immersion stimulates mitochondrial biogenesis to a greater degree than anything else you can do. Joe Rogan's second podcast with Wim he mentions this...the oximeter going to 30%....perhaps it was on him they were testing and not just those he had trained...

who will explain to him that hyperventilation is only 1 of 3 stages, and discussing only one of them makes absolutely no sense? because no one just hyperventilates. XD

Can you please tell me, after doing the WHM method and entering the ice, does the cold not feel so bad anymore?

what is your opinion on using both the wim hof method and something like the buteyko method in balance with one another at maybe differing times of the day? I feel like the stress adaptation and mechanical adaptation would be beneficial with wim hof method but like you said its not as good for CO2 adaptations, so I wonder if using something like Buteyko alongside it would yield any good results. Note that I have had no problems with the wim hof method thus far, just wondering your opinion on someone like me who would have no problem utilizing both at face value

Flaw in your reasoning: yes you hyperventilate initially. However, durning the breath hold your co2 levels increase the longer you hold. In a relatively short time I increased my hold to 4 minutes. The more you practice the longer you’ll be able to hold.
This sets the body up to receive the oxygen and the magic happens. Bliss

What breathing exercise do you recommend

I got 5 guinness world records because of it how many do you have

I was thinking the same after learning the Buteyko method. I got confused because it made sense but I had great result with WHM. Then I realised what some comments also mentioned (just unfortunately not in a nice way) that it does both, there's indeed hypeventillation but then during the breathhokd - which becomes longer and longer with practice - the body gets used to high CO2 more and more. This is what I think but there are different methodologies with different benefits, all better than no breathwork. Breath is powerful.

Just came onto your channel from your reply.

I'm training MMA just like Adesanya, what would you recommend me doing? Are you advocating breathwork? I'm just trying my best to be my best so whatever you recommend I'm interested in hearing.

I keep reading horror stories about people developing tinnitus from the wim hof method, and since I have severe tinnitus myself I don't want to risk it. When I'm looking up anything about breathwork sadly its mostly about wim hof
