It's been 17 years already. Such a good memory. This clip slightly edited, so I could upload it on youtube. I didn't want to do so, but uploading fifteen 2 min clips seems much worse to me.

Movie info:

Credits goes to: Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros, New Line Cinema.

Monetized by owner/s.

Lotr and then Hobbit are incoming. Only battle scenes, as much action and less talking as possible. I'll try my best not to ruin it.

A Wizard, a Dwarf, an Elf, Two Warrior Men and four Hobbits fighting a Troll and some Goblins all while in an abandoned mine. THIS IS FANTASY.

"Let them come! There's one dwarf, yet in Moria, who still draws breath!"

Its fantastically choreographed. They all start in a group and get separated into smaller groups, you know why the get separated, where they are in the space, how they join together and what each character is doing at each time. This is how action scenes should be.

20 years later and this scene STILL feels just as intense as it did before

When Gandalf was reading from the book "drums, drums in the deep" and afterwards in total silence you start hearing the was more afraid at that moment then any horror film i watched.

“They have a cave troll”

This will NEVER get old.

The way he delivers the line "They have a cave troll" is pure perfection (2:02)

The shots of the completely abandoned cave with the drums is super creepy. The idea that there are thousands of orcs and trolls just silently dwelling in this long abandoned mine is insane.

I like how everyone went berserker mode as soon as Frodo got struck.

This scene was scary seeing it the first time in theaters as a younger teen, even though my dad had read us the books and I already knew basically what to expect for all major story plot points and characters. Compared to all the other battles and fights in the trilogy, there’s just something terrifying and claustrophobic about being trapped miles under a mountain with limited routs available and unknown endless numbers of monsters coming for you out of the dark depths.

RIP Balin son of Fundin, I will always remember you as one of the 13 Dwarves who reclaimed Erebor.

To me, the Moria's sequence is the most memorable thing the whole trilogy offers. When I think about "fantasy", this comes in my mind. It's fucking incredible.

The whole Moria sequence is mesmerizing and terrifying.
I remember child me having nightmares at the thought of what horrors could linger in that vast darkness, and feeling immense awe and sadness seeing all that architectural beauty so silent and empty as the whole great dwarf kingdom was swept away.

Pure DnD party action. This scene is what got me into fantasy big time when i read the book in '79. There are no words to descrbe how happy I was when I finally saw it on the big screen.

When they first hear the Orcs coming, you can see Peter Jackson's beginnings as a horror director start to shine.

“They have a cave troll.” Don’t know why but that’s still hilarious to me 17 years later

The fight choreography of this is absolutely mind-blowing. Somehow I never noticed just how fluid and detailed the combat is in this scene
