I am 66 and was a brunette. About 10 years ago I decided to stop dying my hair because it was every 8 weeks, 6 weeks, 4 weeks and then after 2 weeks the white roots started showing again! At first I was very self conscious about it especially when the roots grew out. I thought everybody in the street were looking at me. In fact nobody did. It was just my insecurity talking. Some friends/family told me that white, long hair made a woman look old! (Apparently it is ok for men!☹️). I'm sure they meant well, but I totally ignore them! I am now 66 and I have long white hair down to the middle of my back! Best thing I've done! I get a lot of compliments about it from young and old! I did buy 2 hats at the beginning. One for the summer and one for the winter to hide the roots when they grew out. But I am so glad I did not listen to my friends/family and that I persevered. I absolutely love my grey/white hair. So that's my story.

So, now for some suggestions (and they are only suggestions based on my own experience):
I live in London UK. I work in a healthstore and I have used this recipe since the 1980's when I still was a brunette. This stimulates hair growth and made it strong and shiny.

In 50ml of jojoba oil:
- 10 drops of rosemary essential oil
- 8 drops of bay essential oil
- 7 drops of cedar essential oil
Apply some to the scalp and then rub the rest of your hair in the mixture (i usually get 2 to 3 applications out of the bottle), cover with a towel or a shower cap, leave it overnight, and wash your hair as normal in the morning. I usually do this 1 or twice a month. You can also find already made products in healthstores if you don't want to bother with the faff.

Then when your hair has grown out you could try a magnesium purple shampoo, which will get rid of the yellowing that can happen with white/grey hair, but it may give you a bit of blue colour. It did happen to me but it is really nice and as I said I get a lot of compliments!😊 Also I only wash my hair once or twice a week and do not leave the shampoo on my head too long. I pour the shampoo on my head, wash, rince, and sometime (not always) repeat once, then I put a conditioner on my hair (not scalp), but not when i have done the overnight treatment.

You can also take some supplements specifically for hair growth. We sell them where I work and you need to take them for at least 3 months as this is the life cycle of hair
Make sure you have enough proteins in your diet as the hair follicle is made of protein

This has definitely worked for me. Hope it does work for you too!
Wishing you the very best!

I think I might need some tips and tricks for the growing out phase. I'm about 1.5 inches grown out from blonde. Not a great look (yet)!
