My doors had become really heavy and difficult to close. Tried this at the weekend after trying oiling numerous times with little success. It is amazing! Doors feel really light (have to learn not to slam them so hard). This vid should have gone viral! Thank you

Great tip, worked a treat, I didn't grease mine after for a week or so and the crud just kept squeezing out the hinge, door works perfectly now. Thanks

Hi Bryan i want to thankyou so much for posting this video, i have tried greese and spraying wd40 it dose free them up a bit but doesn't last, so i drilled mine today on my Renault master and sprayed wd40 in and i got the crap out and now it opens freely 👍🏿 very good video this thanks mate 😁

Drill a 4mm hole, remove the nozzle from your squirty can, the tube on the can top will fit in tight, keep pressing until the for gets looser, I infilled the holes with some silicone sealant, ( easy to pick out as the oil stops it's sticking)
My doors were actually flexing as the hinges were that tight.. Now I can shut with one finger....

A little upgrade would be to, fill it with grease, and then close the hole with a rubber cap/plug. So no dirt can enter😊

Trying that tomorrow pal, left hand door is seriously stiff after wd40 sprays! Makes sense! Top tip

Brilliant! Mine got so bad the hinge to door ripped the metal where it was fixed. Garage welded a thick plate to door and refixed it. Ridiculous

Makes sense, I knew the penetrative lubricant wasn't getting in. As long as you plug the hole afterwards as you don't want water in it! Can't wait to give it a go!

Such problem is not a problem, comparing to exploding engines in vw transporter;p thx for a tip!!

I did the same, except two holes for better lubrication

Isn’t there already 2 hole in them on the outside with the little black rectangle caps over them

When I tried this good idea, I found that, on my Transit Custom, the steel pins are trapped into the central part of the hinge, so the movement occurs only in the cups top and bottom. So in my case, this idea won't work. I spray regularly with oil, but get rusty streaks down the door whenever it rains. A bad design by Ford. Whatever happened to grease nipples? BTW, the plastic rectangle on the hinges is a bump stop for when you open the doors right back. The 2 holes for these bump stops are blind holes that definitely don't allow lubrication of the hinge pins.

WD40 works perfect you just need to soak it for a day and it will loosen had the same problem

2 things pal centre pop and a sharp drill

WD is only a temp lube, it evaporates fast, your probably better off fitting some grease nipples, that black stuff coming out is the original grease I expect.

Yes, my hinges are shite. Dry worn and rusted. Cant even grease them. One more designed i cant stand on these things
