The rear doors on Transit Customs with barn doors have a habit of getting very stiff, to the point they bend. The official fix is to replace the hinges but heres a cheaper alternative.

This worked an absolute treat my man! Thank you. Didn’t need to wait for days either. Result after about 2 mins of open and shut.

Another fix i did to my custom was to lube them without drilling, and it was actually an issue on the hinge brackets were not lined up from the usage. Just try to loosen the bolts on the car frame so that the bracket has free move, and close and open few times. Did the trick for me and the hinges aligned again.

I was able to fix this problem without drilling a hole. I sprayed penetrant oil on the hinges and opened and shut the door to work it in and it worked better than what I saw in the video. That was about 6 months ago and the problem has not returned.

Need to do this on mine. Any reason you can't take the little plastic covers off and drill into the pin that way? Will avoid the need to worry about sealing it after.

I'd just spray WD40 or inject lithium grease into the door hinge and just move the door back and forth keep greasing until the door feels lighter as you swing it. 😂

next time, try using a heat gun, get the hinges too hot to touch, then "cool" them with penetrating oil.

But how are poor mega corporations supposed to survive if they can't sell you parts that can easily be fixed?
