“r” is usually used to reverse audio clips so i would not set r as record. you could create a command instead in your system preferences keyboard settings and set a specific one for ableton 12 you just have to make sure you type the command exactly how it looks in ableton’s drop down menu in the toolbar

Live 12 is amazing. Obviously there's still room for improvement in both new and missing features, but can't complain much here. So far, best Ableton Live experience ever.

Double Click on Clip and you see the session view on the display screen of PUSH 2 press play launch the scene. Move the arrow ... select a clip... mute it and so on and on. Dunno if it is news or not but I like it!

you can find show devices in the view drop down menu and go to mixer and select device slots thats after adding the options.txt file anyways

You can choose the device slots in view of abletons top. There are no icons anymore...but i think you know already 😅. Go on with your fantastic channel

So I did exactly what you said in tip 1 and checked out the demo song. I have a question: There are 2 vocal tracks and ONE track has 3 layers of voices singing: lead, 1 octave up, and 1 harmony line. The other track is just the lead vocal. How does one do that? I imagine that they bounce 3 different tracks down onto 1 and then drag it back into the daw? Is that best practice? I really like A12 so far...

Does it sound different from previous version in term of sound quality such as handling sound above 0 db?

@2:42 Show device slots is now native to Live 12. Check under 'View' & 'Mixer Controls'.

Show device slots was working for the 12 beta on Windows 11. Haven't had. Chance to check on the full release but the option to view devices was in the view/mixer controls // show device. There was no option on the main UI
