The Aussie Muslim Convert Turning the DESERT GREEN!

In our latest episode of "Muslims Explored" we travel to Zaytuna Farm in Northern New South Wales, Australia, to meet with Geoff Lawton - a permaculture expert who is turning the desert green!

He has worked for over 40 years in permaculture in over 50 countries, most notably in the Jordan valley where he launched the “Greening the Desert” Project.

Zaytuna farm is home to a thriving community of eco-minded people all committed to sustainable living.

It’s also home to an inspring young chap, Sam Parker Davies, who’s a convert to Islam that carries an incredible story!

I actually have been following Geoff for a while sorry Jamal 😊..and 2 years ago with my wife we started a regenerative farm in Egypt. I must say Zaytuna and greening the desert project were huge inspiration for me I always learn so much just listening to Geoff and now is actually my first time to know he has accepted Islam and It's made my day ❤. My family had the pleasure of spending a little time with Geoff and Nadia a few years ago when we looked into buying a plot at Zaytuna. They were so welcoming. Unfortunately it was not our destiny but it was a great experience to spend time on the farm with them.

When I used to watch Jeff Lawtons permaculture videos I was so impressed by his knowledge and humility. I would pray to God for him to formally take shahada because I felt that he was already as Muslim as the trees, the earth, the plants and the sun. I wept with joy while watching this because my prayers were answered. May Allah grant him the highest level of Paradise for his great work and legacy.
