The Black Plague never left. It’s just science and medicine has advanced far enough that it’s more of an inconvenience. Hell a couple of years ago a kid in the US had it and made a full recovery.

The bubonic plague never went away. You don't hear about it much because we can treat it now.

I like how he’s talking about it like it’s gonna be a pandemic and then at the end just says “never mind guys we’ve got antibiotics”

It's not Black Death anymore now, it's more like a Black Mild Inconvenience

It's never left, it's just curable now. A cat had it in America a few years back.

The plague never left, even the U.S. has at least 14 causes every year.

I love how he makes it sound like a pandemic is impending but then just goes never mind we have tablets.

I just want to put it out there, the stages he named are actually strains. The normal and most common is the bubonic plague this one is curable, the second strain is the pneumonic plague and has a very high morality rate. The final one being the septicaemic, not a single person diagnosed with this one has ever survived, this one attacks your blood.

This is just being alarmist, there are on average about 7 cases per year in America (ranging from 1-17 per year) we have stats that this happens and yes, it is curable

I'm glad that science and medicine has advanced so much that we needn't worry about this much 😊

Plague is endemic in northern California Sierra Mountains. The forest service puts up no camping signs when they detect plague in the rodent population. As a nurse in Sacrramento I've watch for sign and symptoms for plague in hikers, campers from those in the sierra for decades, and found it. Unusually in first and second stages

I heard less than a year ago, a little boy died from the plague

It's never left, it's still out in the wild in Asia and the southwestern US (maybe more places that I'm not aware of). Every once and a while someone in the southwestern US gets it, it's not unheard of or a big deal. Hell even Japan tried making it into a bio weapon in WW2, the dropped "plague bombs" in China multiple times. The bubonic plague can be treated with antibiotics so the casualty rates aren't really that bad in modern times.

"Hey modern medicine, thanks for being better than literally no medicine"

-Sam O' Nella

Idk if this quote applies, but I think it's funny nevertheless
