I like what you did there. Makes me believe maybe I can polish my own car without destroying it. Thanks, mate. Greetings from the USA!

Fantastic pads Jon 👍👍. I have been using the Rupes DA system, both pads, compounds & machines for over 2 yrs now. While the foam pads are great, the step up to wool is a real game changer, especially on super hard german clear coat.

The last black Audi I worked on, had to step up to the blue wool & compound, and still got a great 1 step.

I wear soft tracksuit trousers when cleaning cars so no buttons or zips 👍 but I’m not telling you how to dress 😁

Up until a few years ago I would only use foam pads and thought my XCE cut and finished well with the right pad. I tried some Rupes pads from Imran the other week and I am impressed with the speed of cut and finish. Hopefully, this video will allow others to try wool.

Great video for beginners which is why I was surprised you didn’t touch on needing to wash and clay first.

Great video john.
There is something i've noticed
And its about the flex machine . its looks like the machine itself vibrates like crazy
even tho its forced rotation its not supposed to do that. It could be down to the low battery like you mentioned

Man you are great!!! I watched like 20 of your videos in two days! Thanks to you I decided to buy a polishing machine (Parkside but I guess it should be OK) and all the other stuff to try to polish my car! Thanks for all the great videos, you really know what you are talking about! Cheers from Prague. PS: In case you care, the right pronounciation of Koch is Kokh, not Kosh or Kotch as I heard it in all your videos :)

Another great video and educational, I have a black car and struggle to get the swirls out, I've polished it like crazy by hand and it really shines, as I don't have access to electricity outdoors live in flats, and can't afford a cordless buffer unfortunately, so wondered bond any tips, or great produts mang thanks keep the videos coming

I'm thinking of trying a similar thing on my VW Jon, but using a meguairs microfibre cutting pad with Sonax Perfect Finish.

Be interesting to see if it works.

I need to do this but luckily my cars only 6 months old and looking to use 3D one 1 step, but fit around 20 polishes to choose from, got all the angelwax range, meguiars, car pro, memzerna, auto finnese, auto brite, scholl and so on, will be using a 21mm long throw and a 3 inch polisher

Subj: Dual Action Random Orbital Polisher

I’m overwhelmed when it comes to making a decision for an entry level Dual Action Random Orbital Polisher. I’m guessing it would be used 2-3 per year here in Spokane Washington. I have two vehicle: 2019 Black Volvo xc40 and 2019 white Subaru Accent.

My best novice guess is both vehicle have minor issues around swirling and scratches. For me that would me a little clay bar/mitt fine detailing.

My main focus is the black Volvo. I have no idea what type of polish/wax/finish it may have. I purchased this recently with only 1500 miles on it.

My interest are:
(1) Entry level dual action/random polisher.
(2) Foam pads - Need at least two per panel?
(3) Polishing compounds & Polish for black Volvo
(4) Paint Protection - For the novice Ceramic or Graphene for black Volvo.

Much Thanks!
