A LITTLE EXTRA BLOG (have a read) 🔽

So this was one of the first ever car cleaning products I purchased along with the bodywork shampoo when I first became a car cleaner all those years ago. And I chose this because it gave me the confidence to explore car cleaning and it showed me that I could transform a car with very little effort.

I found it had the potential to make more money from up sells and I could use it on car wheels and door jams too. Its definitely a favourite amongst the classic car community and many of my customers love the instant results that it provides for the those weekend drives in the summer.

Ok so the durability isn't the greatest in the world but its all about compromises and what I discovered quickly was the massive market for offering polish as an upsell and not part of a package. Remember this: If cars stayed clean all the time we would be out of business!!!

I will show you how to use autoglym super resin polish and recommend the best conditions for polishing your car by hand. Many people ask me how often should they use it because they worry about removing the paint. And to be honest even though there is abrasives its not got enough to strip away your paint. So 3-4 times a year would be maximum use. You are better off protecting it on top with a wax and before you say "can't i just ceramic coat it afterwards" well the answer is no because its far better to carry out a proper clay bar decontamination & 2 stage machine polish as Autoglym has fillers which just mask the defect (Not remove them)

So this is ideal for anyone who runs a mobile car wash or static unit and if you want to know more about what goes into the day in the life of a car cleaner then make sure you subscribe as we have a mini documentary coming soon.

Interesting video mate. I’ve been using super resin for the past 20+ years, having entered numerous cars in shows. What’s interesting is that super resin is very versatile. For example, I’ve removed light scratches permanently (you mention it’s only temporary, but with the right tool it can be permanent as the product can be manipulated) The technique for this is to actually use something a bit better than an applicator pad, as you cannot ‘work’ the product properly. I tend to use very soft flannel cloths. I can even use a little water that can basically grade the scratch out. To be honest, I’m probably the last of a dying breed of detailers. I don’t use machines, everything is done by hand, but every car is always finished, knowing that I haven’t eaten into the laquer. 100% autoglym super resin is my go to in my tool kit 😀👌🏾

I used to use this ages ago and almost forgot the great results it gave. I almost fell down the rabbit hole of buying a buffing machine and cutting compounds etc.... I don't have time for this anymore - thank you, you have save me lots of money.

I was using SRP on my car at the weekend to get a few paintwork marks out. Works a treat. I don’t care if people slag off auto glym products, I use several of their products and am always happy with the results.

I'm over the pond, but this was one of my first hand polishes. I was always impressed by the simplicity of the product and results with minimal effort.

Refreshing to see someone talk positively about this product and Autoglym generally. The amount of snobbery around SRP that I've seen from detailers really rubs me up the wrong way!

Ive used this for years and ALWAYS finish of as a top coat AUTO GLYM EXTRA GLOSS PROTECTION. its a thin spirity polish but gives a mirror finish! Dries FAST. I started if using my old dads 'beeswax' Simoniz waxpolish it smelt amazing and gave a great finish on the 60's!

This is the most sensible and clear video about SRP on YT. I've never had anything else but first class results from this product. Never thought the new version had abrasives in it. Just wish it had anti UV properties.

I recently had a bad experience with a hand car wash, it's left a film on the paintwork. I have washed it today and want to get into polishing step by step. This video is great for starters like myself.

Its a great product, the other down side is you need to keep it away from non painted plastic trim or you get white staining which can be hard to remove.

Completely agree, I ride classic bikes which have large areas of polished alloy, I used to use only metal polish on the alloy (Solvol Autosol) This was fine, but it quickly oxidized and dulled down. One day I had a brainwave and decided to use the same Autoglym Super Resin polish that I already used on the paintwork, but on the alloy too, immediately after using the metal polish.. This was a revelation !.. I was amazed at the amount of black metal polish residue it removed and it left a much longer lasting shine than just using the metal polish did. I use it on pretty much everything on my classic bikes now, including the frame, chrome wheels and exhausts.. Autoglym Super Resin polish really is fantastic stuff and it's the only polish I've used for many years now

If Carlsberg did car polishes, then this is what you would get, I’ve been using it for nearly 40 years along with the extra gloss protection. Its easy to use and im well happy with the results - and so it seems is everyone who happens to walk past my vehicles and comments on how nice and shiny they always look.

"people will easily discard things if the crowd does sadly" epic quote. Used autoglym polish since I bought my 1st car. Really impressed with meguiars 3 in 1. Tried to post a link here to hot deals thread for ag srp where I posted a link to your previous ag vid to balance some of the negative comments but utube removed it

This has been my go to for decades. I do detail and have all the other kit including rotary polishers etc etc, but hands down the first polish of a car or to just dress it up is always AG. The only polish I can use directly in sunlight (I know) that actually comes off after!

SRP produces good results but remember this is a filler. After a few washes, the marks are there again. It does not remover swirl marks.

I've been using Auto Glaze for years. I think it's called Glare Professional Polish, now. It's not actually a regular polish. It has tiny beads of glass in it, so it needs to be buffed at just the right point of drying, or it will scratch the paint, so it has to be applied in small areas at a time.-Put it on, wait a bit for it to nearly dry, buff it, then do the next area.
It dries hard and ultra-shiney like glass. If you've seen those highly reflective, wet-look, paint jobs on high end cars, that's the finish Glare gives.
Bird droppings and tree sap don't stick to it. Usually I just need a tissue or maybe a bit of water too, and anything on the paint just falls off.

I will be buying some Autoglym Super Resin Polish to put on as a top coat, though. Just for that added protection. I mostly use Autoglym's products. All their products I've tried work exactly as they say they well (despite my initial scepticism).
