Quick Volleyball Tryout Guide!

Being coachable is a HUGE thing, I recently switched from setter to middle and don’t know most of the footwork. During tryouts yesterday, the coaches were teaching it to me on the spot to see if I could catch on quick and make the changes. Apparently, I did a good job because I got on the 17s team as a 14 year old 5’8” middle (given my vertical is good, almost all the other hitters are above 5’ 11”)

Hey guys here's just a little guide to what happened at my middle school tryouts and some tips:
- we did a lot of running so she could see our stamina
- know what you want to tryout for and be good at it but be good at each basic skill
- EAT BUT NOT TOO MUCH
- be kind to everyone on the team, it's the mentality more than the talent

I go to a private school and our "tryouts" arent really tryouts. But it does show how much you really want to play. There are only like 12 girls trying out at my school so they cant cut anybody. 😊

I’m in 7th and really wanna do volleyball but I will only get one year of middle school volleyball. I honestly wish I started earlier because volleyball tryouts already happened this year and I can only try out next year. Low chances of me getting on the highschool team too bc I’m brand new to volleyball

i made my school team, and if you guys are looking for a fun job on the court, setter is my personal favorite. you get to play defense, and set, which includes tipping and dunking. it’s really fun, i love it. good luck to everyone trying out! <3

I’m trying out for frosh. Which is freshman & sophomore. They have JV and Varsity as well. I’m terrified since I have NEVER played before. I went to a open gym and vb camp.

Lol daughter is into volleyball and she's in 6th. As Dad athlete myself here I am now all into volleyball and getting her ready for 7th grade when she can play. Looks like volleyball is my new sport

Our coach told us not to smile if we make a mistake because that means we’re blaming it on others, so would not recommend Just in case if your coach is like ours

I had / have tryouts today and tomorrow and we had to get a new coach because the last one (no one liked) is moving but yesterday’s tryouts went ( middle school)

Varsity Coach who was leading tryouts explained your platform and then we split and did rotations ( passing, setting, hitting) they got in groups and practiced serving starting at the 10ft line and working our way back

ive never been on club before, i tried out, didnt make it. i went to another club, didnt make it. went to MAKEUP tryouts for the first one. i made it! im on a team a level above me, so if there are two tryout dates ALWAYS GO BACK!!!! dont give up- it will be worth it

Thank you this will help alot when i get to highschool cause in middle school I don't think there are try outs and I do compare myself to someone... my coach for summer volleyball, which is the varsity volleyball coach

I’ve had multiple coaches say I should be a libero but my school’s coaches made me a setter 🧍‍♀️
