Great review! A very close friend retired there in 2013 and since then I have visited Palm Springs 14 times. I still have not done all the things you listed. I am retiring in December and moving there next spring, can't wait!

Since my parents bought a house at west palm springs area i go every other week from LA to relax, i feel so different, specially when i bring my drone and mountain bike. The weather is hot in summer and cold on winter and you can see snows in the mountains of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio Peak. They have alots of restaurants, stores in downtown area and beautiful windmills... Palm Springs is a nice and tranquil place.

I live here now and I can't wait to do some sight seeing myself. I should mention that it was Spanish missionaries that brought Palm trees to the New World in the 18th and early 19th century too California. These trees came from Canary Islands, North Africa, the Middle East, India and Mexico. I look out my window and Date palm trees surround my pool. We live in a gated community, it's very safe, our neighbors are primarily Gay, with a sprinkling of other ethnic groups. Some Asians (like Chinese, Korean, Japanese), and me, who is a Puerto Rican. Yes, we have discovered some great restaurants, but they are off the beat and track, not on the main road. Thank you for your tour. It was appreciated.🌴

Thank you for including the info about the history of the Indian tribe from that area. Most people don’t want to mention the Indian people from there & I think that is really sad.

Interesting video with good info. I live in L.A. and have been going to Palm Springs since I was a kid. Love the area and relaxed vibe, and being less than two hours away by car is an added bonus. I can go down there for the day, or a few days. Here's another interesting tidbit -- the Margaritaville Resort Palm Springs, which opened in 2020, is the former Riviera Hotel. The Riviera opened in 1959 and attracted entertainment A-listers of the era, such as Bob Hope, Desi Arnaz, and even Elvis! But the best part is that they kept the original structures and layout of the legendary Riviera Hotel, just changing the décor and color scheme to fit the beachy Jimmy Buffett-inspired theme. As you make your way down the steps from the lobby to the pool area, the eye catching handles on the two doors leading out to the pool bear the numbers 5 and 9, representing 1959, the year the Riviera opened. Also, you're right about Sherman's Delicatessen. I was in Palm Springs last week and went there for lunch. Their corned beef sandwich and homemade dill pickles are the best. Happy travels!

We travel from Sacramento to PS annually during Veterans Day weekend - crowds are small and the weather is gorgeous. Tons of amazing restaurants and boutique hotels - we stayed at La Maison last week. Wifey and I wish we were back there now instead of being stuck behind computers messing around with spreadsheets 🤦🏻‍♂️

I got a little secret for you---- stand in front of the palm springs museum go to the right of the building, all the way back, mountain, start climbing, their is a zig zag path to the top, there is old foundation, fireplace, has footprints from twin babies ( Ruth & ??), there's a cold box, and what a view! I used to take my dates up there !
