I would call this bo's first completely serious song. I can't think of any part that is supposed to funny or to be taken as a joke. I've always wanted to hear what a serious song from him would sound like, and I am not disappointed

I love that these lyrics are just vague enough for all of us to have our own unique and different interpretations, but the music is so damn good that everyone felt these interpretations very, very deeply. Your interpretation was right and so was mine. Its art not science. I've loved reading how this song makes people sad, happy, connected, alone, all of it combined or none of those things at all. All thats certain is this song is very special, unique and has hit thousands of nerves in those of us who have heard it. To be honest, I'm still not sure what this song means to me, maybe i never will, and maybe thats ok. Goodnight fellow human, I love you I swear.

I just gotta say one thing.


Imagine what this song would be like and sound like in a LIVE setting. If Bo ever goes back to performing, I pray to god he performs this album. This song in particular as well. That would be a whole ass religious experience.

In my opinion, I think this song is his thought process through a panic attack, like he was talking about in the speech part of him going through severe panic attacks on stage. Such as the "are you feeling nervous? Are you having fun?" Is his panic and anxiety almost taunting him. And the whole "all eyes on me" is his anxiety telling him not to mess up which that anxiety eventually evolves into a panic attack. Him telling them to get out of their seets and put their hands up is him looking for validation that his content is actually good (which it it). Also, the "it's almost over, it's just begun" is him trying to tell himself to push through the show but it feels like the end is hours away. "Don't over think this, " is him telling himself not to think about the show or jokes he has to do too much. "look in my eye, don't be scared don't be shy, come on in, the water's fine" is another conversation with himself where he's trying to get himself on the stage. Another thing is the "you tell me the ocean's rising, " is him speaking about global warming and trying to bring awareness to it but people aren't listening ("like I give a sh**"), bringing even more panic and anxiety. this whole song is just so sad. The song ends and leaves an empty ache. I know you didn't ask for a full analysis but too bad you get It anyway.

This song speaks to everyone in a different way, but for me the way my gut dropped to the floor as he said “I’m talking to you- get the fuck up”.. I constantly live my life as if I’m sitting on the sidelines. I’m always scared, I’m always anxious, I’m always nervous. It really felt like someone was telling me it’s time to get out of my own fucking head, get off my ass, and go and do what I should have been doing this whole time, doing what I want and need to do without giving a fuck.

I can picture bo producing more serious content like this, especially with the moral conflict he has when addressing comedy. He has a really incredible and unique talent to be be completely raw and authentic and just to capture the human experience, as seen with this song, I’d love to see even more art like this from him
