I've seen this hive built and used in the UK in the 1980s, by an expert beekeeper called Peter Springhall. One of the most natural ways to keep bees. Well done on your Apiary...I love it.

Beautiful. To prevent timber from splitting hit sharp end of nail using a harmer before using them/hammering in timber. A blunt nail can't split timber

I am really planning to make it. At first I was using pots and local traditional hive called kizegi, I have 4 kizegis and 3pots . I harvest 9 kg pure honey from kizegi each . Then 4kg from traditional pots. I am planning to raise more money in order to make Kenyan top bar hive... Thanks 👍👍👍
