The Signs Babies Use To Tell You What They Want

Показать описание
Your newborn shows signs that tell you exactly what they need, as long as you know what to look for. We call these cues. But your baby's cues alone aren't enough to figure out exactly what they need.

Often if we try to rely on just their cues we end up getting it wrong. The key is to combine cues with some context to get the full picture and really understand what your baby needs.

When you consider what's going on, when they last slept, ate, and soiled their nappy, along with the cues your baby is displaying, you can figure out exactly what they need. This makes life with a newborn much easier.

In this video you'll learn what these cues are, how to spot them, and how to combine them with context to accurately figure out what your baby needs. You'll also see a series of real life examples to see how it works when put into action.

I hope this one helps!

I learned some British slang today! Grizzle: verb (used without object), griz·zled, griz·zling. British. to complain; whimper; whine

Great video! One of the reasons "wake windows" and "leap" theories are so harmful, in my opinion, is because you are looking at the clock, or making presumptions of needs based on expectations, rather than actually getting to know your baby and their cues/body language. Ditch the wake windows, watch your baby!

Love this video! I am a mom of 7, and I was proud that I could read the cues in the video, but I stumbled through learning this with my first few kids. If you are a new mom, this video is right on. I will add that in the early days when you are still learning, it is helpful to follow the general "eat, play, sleep" cycle. If they just woke up, it is time to feed them. Then they will be awake for a little while and you will know that if they start to get fussy they most likely are tired again. But once i learned these cues, there was a lot less crying (of course some babies are just fussier in general though). They will throw you for a loop when they have growth spurts, cluster feeding, teething, sick, etc. They will sometimes do an eat, play, eat, play, eat, sleep, or a super short sleep, then eat, and sleep right away again. But knowing the cues will help you sort it all out and help you avoid the problem of trying to feed a screaming baby - been there, it is hard to get them to latch when that upset. Blessings mamas, you've got this!

Those cues in #1 weren't subtle. He reminded me of the cat trying to get away from Pepe Le pew lol.

I'm loving the video. Thank you

Very informative as always.

A possible video suggestion if you please. A video on toddlers grinding teeth. What are causes and how to help them stop if one can.

When my baby does this, I know he wants me to take him for a walk. He likes to look at things and he is only 1 month old. 😂

Hey maybe I"m not a bad dad, I got most of these right just from intuition. Idk I've always noticed super minute details. It's subtle, but they display their needs differently

What about when a baby goes 0 to 100 instantly? He just skips the early signs. As soon as he wakes up.

This video is a lifesaver. Our newborn is three weeks old and I thought we'd understand her via parental instincts or something. Nope! Total foreign language for me.

A problem that I have with my newborn is that I know her early tired cues, but she’ll REFUSE to sleep . No matter how much I prep or help her to sleep, she’ll just lay there and stare at me until she becomes over tired . HELP !!
