Scorpion are becoming a common pet among young people across Europe and America, but how much to we know about these creatures?

Today I bring you my top 5 species of pet Scorpion, I will present some aspects of their habitat distribution, venom and some information on their conservation status. Hope you enjoy!

Scorpions are predatory arachnids of the order Scorpiones. They have eight legs and are easily recognized by the pair of grasping pedipalps and the narrow, segmented tail, often carried in a characteristic forward curve over the back, ending with a venomous stinger. Scorpions range in size from 9 mm / 0.3 in. (Typhlochactas mitchelli) to 23 cm / 9 in. (Heterometrus swammerdami).

I’m getting an Emperor scorpion and troglodytes for my bday this Christmas. I am already starting my superworm culture so by the time I get my scorpions I will have more than enough and a steady supply. After that I will get more scorpions like the desert hairy and Asian forest scorpion. Once I get them and feel like I’m ready for more I will try tarantulas! Sorry for rambling because I am just excited for my arthropod/invertebrate hobby!

You should've put Florida Bark Scorpion insteaf of Arizona Bark. It's venom isn't that potent.

The Arizona bark scorpion is NOT a good species to keep. It is fast, adaptable, and has one of the most VENOMOUS STINGS IN NORTH AMERICA. If it escapes, it can adapt to live in your house for a while, and it is extremely dangerous around children. This species is only good for experienced and careful keepers, but I would advise people to stay away from this species. If you do want a bark scorpion, a striped bark scorpion would be a better choice. They have all of the benefits of an Arizona bark scorpion, but they are not nearly as dangerous, and their sting is only fatal to people with severe allergies.
