Thank you a good basic comparaison between Mate and Cinnamon :) I appreciate that the music is at a low volume which does not distract us from the content. The only suggestion I would make is to invest in a better mic (if you can afford it) because sometimes it sounds like an old cell phone but we can still understand fairly well.

So the pix image manager and the xviewer image viewer that can rotate. You still need something like gimp, inkscape, blender or krita to edit.

Mint21 uses the Mate1.26 desktop, which I prefer to use with pcmanfm as a file manager. Instead of Nautilus or Caja. It allows for easier switching OS and running the Mate setup on Ubuntu, Debian and ghostbsd. I use NeoVIM and Emacs as my main apps, and I don't need Libre Office.
