Thanks. That was a useful comparison. I think I'll stick with Cinnamon considering it looks the best and doesn't really use that much more RAM than the other two...

Love your video. Thank you so much for this amazing and useful information. This is the kind of video I search for, every time I distro hop. Thank you once again for making my day easier.

Thank you, I've got an old Asus transformer book I'm trying to bring back to life with a linux install but it only has 2GB of RAM. As such I've been trying to get some data so I don't have to distro hop so much to find something that's right for me. You've saved me some real time, thanks

muito boa essa comparação. Eu pensava que o cinna ficaria bem a frente aos outros com programas abertos.

Thanks, the differences seem marginal.

nice to see that xfce has become so bloated that its literally the same as cinnamon. "good progress."

My ram runs a bit higher than what's presented here using 21.1 Mate. I've got a Dell laptop e6510 with integrated graphics and an I5 2.4ghz and 8GB of DDR3 ram on a 500 HD. System without anything extra downloaded (beside updates) uses 900MB, once a browser is opened it shoots to 1.4GB and each tab instance adds 200-300MB of ram. System will run 10 tabs, but system will occasionally freeze up. I'm not sure why it freezes, but it also does it with the Edge browser, only worse.

Интересно было бы сравнить синамон, например, с 10 окнами примерно с одинаковым набором открытых приложений и количеством вкладок в браузере.

I have a PC from 2009 with 4GB Ram. Win7 ran very smoothly. Now Win10 has serious slowdowns. It was much better in 2015.

Can you reccomand installing Mint Cinnamon?

Xfce is coming with Wayland on their next version 4.18 this December. Everybody else just go btfo.
