For reference, this is not what they would have been eating in the movie - the chocolate version is a newer product. Turkish Delight, or "lokum", is specifically the gel - its made using corn starch, not gelatin, which is why it has that soft but firm texture. Traditionally its cut into cubes and coated in powdered sugar.

Actual Turkish delights are super good. They come in a box not individually wrapped and they’re almost like a marshmallow but a lot stiffer and I can’t really describe the taste. It’s covered in powder sugar and it’s one of my favorite sweets

I was literally just randomly talking about Turkish Delight the other day.. I once had Turkish Delight (from Turkey), and it was not covered in chocolate. Never heard of that before. It was like a very soft liquorice, covered in powdered sugar and in a wooden box. I also learned first about it from the old Narnia movie from the 80's or 90's (and I think about that scene all the time lol).
