For all you Windows users, you can use Vellum by using a Mac emulator like VirtualBox or a service like Mac in Cloud.

Hi Abbie! You mentioned that accessibility setting metadata is used if kindle can’t display photos, but I believe it’s also used for the visually impaired and other people who use text to speech capabilities! Writing a short description of the image (like “hand drawn vase with flowers”) might be useful so it doesn’t just read “smell” twice lol <3

Thank you! Based on this video I got Vellum - after trying to produce a Kindle ebook with Word and InDesign for a week, Vellum let me produce a completed ebook in one day. The program is free to try out and has a good preview for all popular readers. Costs $200-250 for the pro version that actually exports a kindle-friendly file. Very worthwhile!

As I was watching I found myself asking..."what next?" You have the files, then I assume you upload to the different platforms (Amazon, Nook, etc) but I was thinking to myself, after you publish, what do you do? Market? Or does that take place beforehand? How do you hype yourself if you're an indie publisher? I remember seeing your videos about connecting with book bloggers and getting their reviews of your ARC but what about timeline? I'm just wondering what the publishing timeline looks like from when you write "The End" and it's been edited/proofread/reviewed by everyone and it's ready for publishing. I'd love a video like that! So glad to see a video about indie publishing again, Abbie! You're the best. Rock on!
