I have a very early Sino Soviet rifle with a fiberglass stock. It has pitting one the receiver and barrel from when it was buried. It also has new parts to replace those damaged by water when it was the buried. But inside the barrel is bright and shiny and it the bolt still works fine. IDK who did it the Vietnamese or the Chinese did a great job rebuilding it.

I have one of these jungle stocks and I really like it but I did find a wood stock that had been painted black for cheap and restored it

Pure gold. Man, your ability to articulate your thoughts is a life goal here.

Nice video. I seen them at gun shows too. Almost all the fiberglass stocks are for blade bayonet pre 1965 Type 56s. Most spikers with those stocks had to be modified by the owner to accommodate a spike bayonet. Hope you can do a video on the SKS M and D which in a way as close to a Type 63 one can get outside of the bamboo certain.

I’m glad to have found your channel on the sks! The two that I have were purchased in the 90’s for a lot less than they are now! I will now dig them out of the safe and check the markings. Thanks for all of the good info! Keep up the good work. Mike

Yoo this channel is a treasure. I really like SKS pattern rifles and you've got such good info. I recently been digging bakelite and found out they make bakelite stocks for the sks. This is exactly the information i was looking for thankyou my man 🤙 great video

I own a full jungle stock set. The only problem is that it needs a LOT of sanding/fitting to be done which I just don't have time for right now. I also have the matching spring ended "Jungle" sling to go with it. Really interesting how hard they are to find right now!

i've had a "jungle stock" on my paratrooper sks for years now. looks cool. also around 20 years ago a purchased a "jungle stock" made for a blade bayonet but didn't have anything to put it on. then when classic firearms got that huge shipmet of sks's in they had a sale on sks's with broken stocks. got mine for about $250 or so. really a deep discount from the $600 they were selling the others from. what i received was a rifle with a really damaged stock, pieces missing, cracks etc. but a very nice all matching 80% blue rifle. had to do some fitting, bought a blade bayonet, a sling with the spring attachments and now i have a sks that can survive anywhere and looks really good. a great shooter as well. thanks for your vid's great info!

Great video! I have a jungle stock sks and I love it. But you have to have a wood sks and a jungle stock sks. Amazing video, keep up the uploads

I have a non-matching early Chinese SKS with the polymer stock. It seems like the Chinese put these stocks on early rifles that had worn out stocks but its hard to prove. I have seen several chinese sks rifles with these stocks and they are almost always the blade bayonet version.

I agree entirely. I had one of these, and, now I don’t have one of these.

Thanks for the videos! I grabbed what may be a “ghost” in an FRP. Serial 88600, so far only the cover doesn’t match. Blade bayonet and lightning cuts, etc. It’s an old B West import that was just cleaned out of Cosmolene after sitting unused since the previous owner purchased it way back. It’s in very nice condition, I figure it must have been refurbished and restocked for export. I’m an SKS rookie - am I anywhere close to understanding what this thing is? Or could it be some sort of scrubbed commercial rebuild?
