It would be great if Synology Photos could detect local photos so I don’t have to wait for the photos to be backed up before I can view them. Without this it can never replace iCloud Photos or Google Photos

I found the best way to do this either when I'm home or away from my home network is to backup to OneDrive. On my Synology NAS, I use CloudSync to sync OneDrive to the NAS. It's all seamless plus I end up with my photos in two locations besides my phone. I use an app called PhotoSync which is brilliant but the OneDrive app will also do the job rather nicely.

As photos are added are they backed up automatically or does the user have to iinitialte the backup?

What does synology photos do with iphone live photo's? Does it only save the main frame or what?

if I delete a photo of my phone will it delete off the nas? is there a way to change that if it is the case

The Synology Photos app won't download on my older android phone. How do i backup photos from my older phone? the whole reason i bought this backup drive is to be able to save space on my mobile, now I fear I have to buy a new phone(?)

The enable sleep backup function does not seem to work for me on android or ios, the phone eventually seems to disable the process after the screen blacks out, even when it is connected to a power source. It only seems to backup when the device is on and the screen is on. This is very frustrating, when you have over 10, 000 photos to backup. Any ideas, I changed all the apps so they could run in background mode, but that did not seem to help. I am using the latest iOS and android versions as of May 2023.

Hi, the Photo Back is very Very slow when compared to Local Network Back Vs Remote Backup. Even With a High Speed Internet ! Please help me with this issue @synology

HI Brad from Sydney Australia here. Strange problem I cannot solve. I have videos that I have moved from a shared folder to my personal space. The videos in the shared folder and personal space only show grainy video - However- as I have set up an account with (synology) Mobile Photos app, I now can access the same videos on my Iphone. Strange thing- The ' app' has managed to transcode the same videos perfectly viewing from my Iphone with sound and vision. What am I missing here? Any help will be much appreciated..Brad

I don't understand how the program works, but I know that it is a backup one by one, and the mode of file copying is completely different, the efficiency is low, about 1 second 2 photos to copy, the transfer speed of 2M/second is too slow, for the hard disk is a huge burden for hard disk performance is a huge waste.

During the iPhone Photo backup, I keep getting an invalid backup certificate even though I haven't enabled encryption or created certificates!

It's been four days nonstop and it hasn't backed up a quarter of my photos because that error pops up during sleep time and I have to close it for it to resume.

What's going on?

Idiotic explanation.! How to get to this page 0:32 ?? What do you mean it will appear by itself? nothing appears on the phone, by itself. Is it some kind of application, should I launch? or go to some address in the browser? or what to launch to make this appear? I've tried everything, nothing appears by itself. Where do I find it?
